Father’s Day BBQ

Don’t let your eyes fool you. Everything you see here is made of CANDY!!! We are celebrating Father’s Day a little early with a cute candy BBQ on the roof :)   Check out our assorted cookies, gummy burgers and dogs, grilled gummy kabobs and more yumminess!

Don’t forget Father’s Day is this Sunday, June 16th!  What are you doing to celebrate?

Create a Gumball Necklace for Mom

Mother’s Day is May 13th – yes that is NEXT WEEK!  What do you typically get for that special lady in your life?

We find that you can never go wrong with something handmade. So we came up with a great new update on the classic “macaroni necklace” to show moms who love to accessorize that you care.  (Of course, we also love this bright piece for ourselves.  I even wore it in our color inspirations shoot!)

This is fun for adults or for children with parental supervision. Instructions are below.

Hope you have a sweet time making these candy creations as much as I do!

Gumball Necklace

  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Candy Necklace (cut)
  • 8-10 gumballs (any color)

Instructions:

  1. Gather your materials
  2. Using a scissor or sharp tool to pierce a small hole in the center of each gumball
  3. Wrap a piece of tape around the end of the ribbon to make it easier to loop through the candy
  4. Alternate looping the ribbon through candy necklace candy and a gumball until you reach desired length
  5. Get creative!  Try using different candies and colors for a funky look and secure necklace with a bow.
  6. Take your necklace out on the town or wrap it in a nice gift box for mom :)

All Ears

Just in time for Easter, Vogue  asked Dylan’s Candy Bar to create a bunny inspired item for their piece Down the Rabbit Hole and we are so proud of our creation that we had to share with you the transformation!

Katie, Dylan’s Candy Bar’s crafter extraordinaire, worked for over 2 days straight (yes she is a perfectionist!) on putting the entire mosaic together.

First she duplicated our mascot Chocolate the Bunny using hot glue and a ton of jelly beans!  Try these for your mosaic!

Step One: Do Not Burn Your Fingers!

Next she used our signature Turquoise and created a lovely border to accentuate Chocolate.

Step Two: Pick a Background Color

Finally she nit-picked and made her final changes before glazing the entire mosaic to preserve (and shine)!

Step Three: Admire Your Work!

Try it out and be sure to post the outcomes here!!
