Hey everyone! I had such an INSPIRATIONAL day visiting the site for Tyra Banks’ TZONE at the Lower East Side Girls Center earlier this month, and I wanted to share it with all of you! Her amazing new program will serve as a leadership development center for hundreds of girls from all over New York City. The brand new facility, will be the home for a variety of incredible events including career development workshops, mentoring, experiential learning opportunities, community-wide events and more! It is truly remarkable that so many girls will benefit from the unique programs and opportunities they are provided with at the new, permanent residence of the TZONE.

The state of the art center will have everything a girl would dream about. From a delicious café, to a screening room, and even a planetarium—this Girls Club has it all! As a true work out guru myself, I LOVE that the program encourages exercise—they will even have a bike rack for girls who are looking to stay in shape and ride over to the building!  I am so proud to be a part of this fantastic initiative and I can’t wait to follow the progress and success of the TZONE. Dylan Loves: Candy Stripe Shoes

I love my new shoes!  They are by Reef, and are so comfy and have that perfect blend of fun and classy. One of the reasons I decided to open Dylan’s Candy Bar is  because I have always been in love with bright candy colors and saw so much potential in pushing candy into the design and art world. And it’s as if these shoes are candy-inspired! Their brightness sure do inspire me.

On top of it all, when I went to purchase them online, I learned that the shoes are crafted by artisans in the Mayan highlands of Guatemala. By partnering with the nonprofit organization, Nest, Reef is providing an opportunity for these women to create a sustainable living.

Splendid Launch Party

Last week Dylan hosted Splendid’s NYC store opening!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our Celebrations & Bar team brought the Dylan’s Candy Bar experience downtown to Splendid’s new store in Soho (111 Spring Street). We set up a colorful candy display and a candy cocktail bar with our favorite summer drinks such as, The Strawberry Nerds Mojito and Dylan’s Peachy Tea.

To make the night even more exciting, Dylan introduced Dylan’s Candy Bar for Splendid limited edition blankets that she designed exclusively for Splendid. All proceeds of the blankets benefited the MCSPCA, an organization dedicated to protecting and advocating for all animals. MCSPCA is where Dylan adopted her new puppy, Jersey!  Tip: These blankets paired with a Splendid dress is perfect for a picnic or day at the beach!

Hi Everybody!  I am so excited for my first entry on the new Dylan’s Candy Bar blog, I Dream in Candy.  There are so many new candies, products, friends, activities and companies that I love, and I can’t wait to share them with you here.

The most common question I am asked about Dylan’s Candy Bar is “What inspires you?”

Well, I find inspirations in my everyday life all the time. Right now I’m most inspired by my new puppy, Jersey, the fun Spring fashion the gals are wearing in my office, and as always, candy.

To me candy is ART, candy is FASHION, candy is ENTERTAINMENT, candy is a JOY, and candy is a WORLD OF COLOR.

As a matter of fact, it thrills me to see NYC embracing bright candy colors right now, especially since I love combining bold, complementary colors in everything I design and wear.  The combination of sea green and coral (like Alex is wearing below) with pops of turquoise is currently one of my favorite color combinations.
